The lung of Africa with its vast forest areas, infamous for its conflicts, is nevertheless one of the most fascinating places to see lowland and mountain gorillas in the east of the country bordering Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda. Adventurers who dare to set foot into this marvelous country can experience the friendliness, liveliness and hospitality of the Congolese people. It is also possible to get a glimpse of the amazing remnants of the colonial past and scientific excellence that was present and still lingers around in places like the Natural Research Center of Lwiro. Besides gorilla visits, hiking tours and narrations of ancient rites and myths, further cultural and social destinations are currently under development.

Together with its partners, the Congolese Wildlife Authority ICCN, the German International Cooperation Agency GIZ and the management of Kahuzi Biega National Park, Eos Visions has initiated a public-private-partnership to re-launch tourism in the safe and stable parts of South Kivu Province. Contact us for more information and for opportunities to visit. Among others, tracking the rare Grauer's Gorillas in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kahuzi Biega National Park is possible.

Special highlights:

  • UNESCO World Heritage status and gorilla conservation in times of armed conflict
  • Post-conflict reconciliation and reconstruction
  • Climbing the first steps of the development ladder
  • Women in social and economic development
